The Gables of Fitchburg, a well-established family owned 47-apartment assisted living community, is seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and experienced Executive Director to lead our team in delivering exceptional care, hospitality, and engagement to our residents. Position Summary:
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of The Gables of Fitchburg. This includes oversight of operations, staffing, financials, resident satisfaction, regulatory compliance, marketing, and community activities. We are looking for a supportive leader who motivates their team, encourages collaboration, and ensures that residents receive the highest quality of care and lifestyle enrichment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Daily Operations
- Oversee all departments including wellness, marketing, dining, housekeeping, maintenance, activities, and administration
- Foster a supportive, team-oriented culture that encourages professional growth and accountability
- Lead regular team meetings and ensure clear communication across departments
Resident Experience & Activities
- Champion a positive and enriching environment for residents through vibrant programming and personalized service
- Oversee the Activities Director to ensure a robust and engaging calendar of events
- Promote a sense of community and purpose among residents
Marketing & Community Outreach
- Oversee and actively participate in marketing and outreach efforts to maintain and grow occupancy
- Build relationships with referral sources, local businesses, and community organizations
- Ensure the presentation of the building and services reflects a high-quality, welcoming atmosphere
Staff Management
- Recruit, hire, train, and lead a high-performing and compassionate team
- Provide mentorship, performance management, and staff development opportunities
- Ensure that staffing levels align with resident care and service needs
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the community’s annual budget with attention to revenue goals and cost control
- Monitor occupancy, expenditures, and financial reports to maintain profitability
- Approve purchases and expenditures in accordance with company policies
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with Massachusetts assisted living regulations and safety standards
- Serve as the point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits
- Promote best practices in resident care, medication management, and incident reporting
Technology & Communication
- Use scheduling, payroll, and health record systems (e.g., Paycor or similar platforms) efficiently
- Demonstrate effective communication through email, internal platforms, and public presentations
- Submit timely operational reports and maintain accurate community records
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Director in senior housing or healthcare management
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Massachusetts assisted living regulations
- Ability to learn, comprehend and implement company policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in marketing, public relations, and event coordination is a plus
- Financial acumen and budget management experience
- Proficiency with operational software, scheduling, and email communication
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, marketing, or related field preferred
- CORI clearance required before employment
