Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Quality Assurance Nurse (QA)

Job Summary We're on the lookout for a dependable Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team and collaborate with our Director of Nursing (DON).

Your role as ADON / QA Nurse will involve not only ensuring the highest quality of daily nursing services but also supporting and guiding our staff to maintain exceptional standards of care.

Join us in creating a caring and vibrant healthcare environment! Essential Job Functions Be the Go-To Support : Provide "on-call" services to our nursing staff as scheduled by the Administrator, ensuring our team always has the backup they need.

Ready to Respond : Stay accessible via phone at all times during your "on-call" hours and be prepared to arrive at the facility within 30 minutes if needed.

Stay Informed and Compliant : Keep up-to-date with state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures, to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Keep Us on Track : Perform audits and step in as necessary to maintain compliance with all regulations and policies, ensuring our facility operates at its best.

Patient-Centered Care : Continuously assess patient needs using the nursing process, making sure every resident receives the best care possible.

Safety First : Identify, correct, and report any health and safety concerns to create a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Policy Developer : Assist the Director of Nursing in creating and implementing nursing policies and procedures that enhance care and efficiency.

Quality Improvement Enthusiast : Participate in the quality management program, attend all related meetings, and help develop and implement improvement plans based on quality indicators.

Team Builder : Aid in the recruitment, retention, and training of licensed nursing staff, ensuring we have a top-notch team.

Educational Leader : Provide at least 12 hours of educational in-service to the nursing department annually, fostering continuous learning and improvement.

Performance Enhancer : Identify areas where licensed nursing staff can improve, providing education and disciplinary action as needed.

Schedule Organizer : Assist in developing the monthly staffing schedules for licensed nursing staff, ensuring optimal coverage.

Investigation Initiator : Initiate and document thorough investigations into all allegations of abuse, maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

Inspection Participant : Take part in annual inspections by the Department of Health Services, ensuring we meet all standards.

Correction Planner : Collaborate with the Administrator and Director of Nursing to develop and implement plans of correction for any deficiencies found during surveys.

Educator and Implementer : Help educate department staff and implement changes according to the plan of correction.

Hands-On Nurse : Step in as an RN Floor Nurse, providing direct care to residents when coverage is needed, keeping your skills sharp and staying connected with patient care.

Versatile Task Performer : Handle all delegated tasks within your scope of practice, showing your adaptability and readiness to help.

Leadership Support : Absorb the responsibilities of the Director of Nursing in their absence, ensuring continuity and stability in our care services.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Ability to lift 100 pounds or more and bear weight.

This is a safety-sensitive position pursuant to A.R.S.

23-493.

Must be able to wear protective equipment such as gloves, masks, gowns, goggles and gait belts.

Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, common health care conditions, smells, noises, chemicals and some mechanical equipment.

Exposure to a variety of patient conditions and elements.

Regular requirement of long hours and frequent weekend work.

Frequent interactions with persons who may be verbally abusive to include yelling and cursing.

Frequent interaction with persons who are disabled, elderly and emotionally upset and who may be emotional, verbally and physical abusive.

Requires the ability to work with frequent interruptions with a workload that may be unpredictable and difficult to manage at times.

Required Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.

Current Arizona Nursing License or a license from a compact license state.

Obtain / maintain Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Card at employee's expense.

Maintain CPR Certification.

Receive the COVID-19 vaccine or exemption.

Complete annual Tuberculosis Testing.

Fulfill the required 12 hours of annual in-service training.

Mandated federal, state, and local communicable disease testing as required.
