Position Type: Full-Time, Monday - Friday 7am – 3:30pm
Rate: $18.00 per hour
Are you skilled in patching, painting, and performing small repairs? Join The Gardens at West Shore, a leading skilled nursing facility, as a Maintenance Assistant! We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual passionate about keeping our facility in top condition for our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patch, Paint & Repair: Repair walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, windows, and more to maintain a welcoming environment.
- Small Fixes: Replace burned-out lightbulbs, repair plumbing issues, and tackle carpentry, plastering, and electrical repairs.
- Facility Maintenance: Assist with preventive maintenance on machinery, mechanical equipment, and building infrastructure.
- Room Turnovers: Clean and prepare resident rooms after transfers, discharges, or other transitions.
- Groundskeeping: Maintain parking areas, driveways, and landscaping through trimming, sweeping, and general upkeep.
- Furniture Moves: Relocate furniture as needed to complete assignments or support events.
- Emergency Tasks: Respond to unscheduled or urgent maintenance needs, including on-call responsibilities during weekends or holidays.
Qualifications:
- Experience in cleaning, maintenance, or a related field.
- Familiarity with basic tools, cleaning materials, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow maintenance policies and schedules.
