Job Summary:
The Gardens Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to oversee our dietary services and ensure high-quality meal preparation and nutrition management for our residents. The CDM will be responsible for supervising dietary staff, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and ensuring meals meet residents’ nutritional needs and preferences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the dietary department, including food preparation, service, and sanitation.
- Ensure all meals are prepared according to residents' dietary needs, preferences, and prescribed medical diets.
- Develop and maintain menus in collaboration with a registered dietitian.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate dietary staff to ensure efficient performance and adherence to facility policies.
- Monitor food inventory, order supplies, and ensure cost-effective food service operations.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including those set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Health.
- Ensure proper food safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
- Work closely with nursing and medical staff to accommodate resident dietary restrictions and special needs.
- Conduct routine audits and inspections to uphold high-quality food service standards.
- Address resident and family concerns regarding dietary services promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or actively pursuing certification with completion within six months.
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or healthcare food service setting preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical nutrition, menu planning, and therapeutic diets.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local food safety regulations.
- ServSafe certification is a plus.
