Purpose Statement
To establish and facilitate a development culture and strategic talent development plan for The Gardner School. The Director Talent and Development will play a key role in developing strategies to attract, develop and retain top talent to support the organization's growth and success. This individual will oversee talent acquisition processes, performance management, employee development, employee relations and succession planning initiatives. This position partners closely with the Director of Academics and Learning and school operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Facilitate all people activities in the career lifecycle from talent acquisition to end of employment for an assigned set of schools
- Lead the organization's talent acquisition strategy and processes, including sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring top talent across all levels and functions
- Provide support and counsel to school leadership regarding all people and culture employee relations issues
- Supports Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives for the organization and ensures processes are inclusive
- Facilitate internal career development and identify trends to support retention
- Maintain human resources related regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Document and investigate team member complaints to ensure timely resolution
- Develop and maintain a succession planning processes to identify and develop high-potential employees for key roles within the organization
- Develop leadership development programs for the organization
- Maintains ownership of Job Catalog inclusive of Competencies
- Support bi-annual In Service Training for operations with consistency in messaging and in compliance with state professional development requirements.
- Manage the design, implementation, administration, and communication of the TGS performance management process.
- Design, guide, and manage the execution of talent management programs by identifying organizational talent needs, securing resources, communicating with stakeholders, and prioritizing work.
- Develop tools and/or assessments that guide managers to make effective talent-related decisions and effectiveness of learning initiatives.
- Continuously improve training programs based on feedback and outcomes
- Present strategies and report outcomes to members of senior leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor and provide consultation through thought leadership and strategic direction on the development of a talent and development strategy
- Partner with Marketing Team and School Operations to develop and implement employer branding strategies to attract top talent and position the organization as an employer of choice
- Develop and deliver a robust talent development calendar for TGS
- Provides leadership and development of the People and Culture Learning and Talent Management team.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in talent management, talent acquisition, or related HR roles.
- Demonstrated experience of talent development best practices, career pathing, competency modeling, and performance coaching Proven track record of designing and implementing successful talent management and organizational development strategies in a corporate or organizational setting with a strong understanding of external best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources or Business preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience driving change management initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Knowledge of general administrative tasks
