Principle Accountabilities for Floor Technicians:
- The Floor Technician maintains The Garlands’ public areas through various cleaning projects including floor care, exterior cleanings and special projects
- Performs carpet, floor, upholstery cleaning and all other cleaning tasks by following policies and procedures and product recommendations. Must always refer to MSDS and follow infection control procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining and cleaning equipment before and after each use.
- Report to the director and supervisor any equipment issues timely.
- Uses chemicals and supplies wisely
- Follows safe working procedures and reports any safety concerns to the supervisor and director.
- Assists Maintenance Team Members with snow removal on walkways and driveways to ensure Members’ safety on the premises.
- Demonstrates excellent listening skills and communicates effectively while conveying patience and understanding.
- Treats all Members with dignity and respect and establishes a trusting relationship with them, while maintaining confidences.
- Demonstrates knowledge of safety measures and environmental hazard prevention at The Garlands. Uses tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting preferred
- Must be a flexible, highly customer service individual
- Well organized with the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities and changing priorities, while maintaining an upbeat, customer focus.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Takes pride in personal appearance and professional demeanor.
- Must be able to complete responsibilities with little supervision and operate all cleaning equipment independently.
- Must be able to work with cleaning fluids in a safe and appropriate manner.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to climb 6-foot stepladder.
- Able to endure extensive standing, walking, stair climbing.
- Able to work outside in inclement weather while shoveling snow or pushing equipment.
- Able to tolerate occasional high noise levels.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
