The Garrett Group is a seeking a highly skilled Exercise Planner / White Cell Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the planning, coordination, and execution of exercises and training programs, focusing on U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) initiatives. This position requires a thorough understanding of Joint Publication (JP) 5.0, the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC), and USSTRATCOM exercises such as GLOBAL THUNDER and GLOBAL LIGHTNING.
Key Responsibilities Include the Following:
Exercise Orders Development:
Develop operational orders for Combatant Commands (CCMDs) not participating in designated exercises.
Exercise Planning and Coordination:
Participate in exercise planning conferences, representing directorate interests during the development of the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL).
Serve as the White Cell SME, providing guidance and expertise during exercise planning and execution phases.
Training and Development:
Assist STRATCOM personnel in formulating training objectives, expanding them into detailed Level 1/2/3 MSEL tasks, and integrating these into the Joint Training Tool (JTT).
Research, develop, and present training materials to support academic sessions for exercise training audiences.
Documentation and Research:
Create White Cell exercise support documents, including Combatant Command Situation Reports, Blue Force Dispositions, and exercise-specific Air Tasking Orders.
Maintain and update exercise training audience portals and webpages as necessary.
Briefings and Presentations:
Develop and deliver Senior Leader briefing materials.
Provide briefing support and materials for the Plans and Operations Synchronization Working Group (POSWG) and the Plans and Operations Synchronization Board (POSB).
Required Qualifications:
- Familiarity with JP 5.0 and the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).
- Experience with USSTRATCOM exercises, particularly GLOBAL THUNDER and GLOBAL LIGHTNING.
- Strong understanding of MSEL development and integration into joint training tools.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive exercise support documents and training materials.
- Proficiency in creating and managing online portals/webpages related to exercise training audiences.
- Exceptional communication skills for participating in working groups and presenting to senior leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with STRATCOM or other Combatant Commands.
- Advanced proficiency with tools such as Joint Training Tool (JTT) or equivalent systems.
- Prior involvement in the development of Combatant Command orders.
