Job Purpose:
The duties of the Inn Shop Attendant are to assist all guests with purchasing. Supply guests with requests while still maintaining the resorts standards and making a profit. To keep a tight control on all items to ensure that all merchandise is accounted for. The Inn Shop Attendant purpose is to ensure that the level of service provided to the guest is highly individualized and that each guest feels that their comfort and convenience are the principal concerns of The Gasparilla Inn & Club.
Job Duties:
- Adheres to the Gasparilla Inns 4 Steps to Memorable Service.
- Exhibits the Gasparilla Inn Core Values.
- Maintain complete knowledge of:
- Daily house count, VIPs, arrivals, departments.
- Scheduled group activities and locations within the hotel.
- Proper use of respective tools, equipment and supplies in the job function.
- Complete opening duties as assigned, following department/accounting procedures.
- Organize and clean shop during shift as set forth in departmental standards removing all trash, cleaning/dusting work area and folding and refolding all retail items.
- Display merchandise in a neat, eye appealing manner, making people want to buy.
- Stock and restock items during your entire shift.
- Acknowledge guests however busy; promote positive guest relations.
- Sell items to guests and be able to answer guests' question about items.
- Follow through with all guest requests as specified in hotel standards.
- Monitor all guest activity in assigned work area; be alert to any signs of trouble. Notify Security at once.
- Answer telephone within 3 rings with correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
- Keep an accurate cash drawer.
- Ability to understand guest inquiries and provide responses.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
- Ability to focus on details and resolve numerical problems.
- Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment
- Ability to work well under pressure within any given period of time.
- Ability to focus attention on details.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all guests and hotel information.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Required:
- Outgoing & Professional demeanor
- Must be 18 years or older
- 2 years in a customer service position
- Must speak English
Preferred:
- 1 year retail experience
