What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL SCRIBE position at The Gastroenterology Group Pa?
The primary duties for the medical scribe are to accompany the physician into the exam room in order to document each patient's interaction with the doctor. This enables facilitating of patient flow and ensuring an accurate and complete medical record for each patient.
Scribes will use the Electronic Health Record system in real-time to document dictation from the physician, and conduct themselves in a professional, kind and caring manner at all times.
Must have knowledge of medical terminology in general and Gastroenterology specific terminology and procedures. Documentation must be correct and professional in grammar, punctuation and spelling.
A minimum of one year in the healthcare field preferred.
Experience in a direct patient care environment highly preferred.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent education is required.
Be able to type at least 80 words minute.
Hourly compensation will be based on the applicant's capabilities.
Work Hours: Monday through Thursday afternoons, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM or later, approximately 4-5 hours per day, Prefer applicant to work four days, but will consider two days per week.
Salary : $15 - $18
