The Gatehouse is a non-profit organization located in Grapevine, Texas that helps women overcome hardship by equipping them and their children with the resources necessary for independence and permanent self-sustainability. The Gatehouse has a collaborative culture rooted in Christianity and is funded entirely through community support (not government funding).
The Development Coordinator will play an important role in ensuring the development department operates smoothly and successfully. This role will support key processes fundraising, grant management, and volunteer coordination, ensuring smooth operations within the Development Department. Responsibilities include managing social media outreach, coordinating events, maintaining donor and volunteer databases, and representing the organization at community events. Additionally, the coordinator recruits and supervises volunteers, oversees in-kind fundraising efforts, and facilitates community engagement through site tours and outreach activities. This role is essential for driving development initiatives and supporting both internal and external stakeholders.
This dynamic role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Job Duties
Development
Assist in the administration and coordination of donations, campaigns, events, and other key development activities
Commit to memory The Gatehouses mission, vision, and brand and represent The Gatehouse with integrity
Take ownership of your duties and proactively look for opportunities to support other development initiatives
Consistently communicate with supporters and make certain response is accurate and prompt
Always demonstrate excellent customer service and continually explore ways to increase support and engagement
Frequently collaborate with team members and actively contribute to discussions with a solution-oriented mindset
Monitor and maintain development materials and supply inventory
Assist with administration of donor database records ensuring accuracy and donor confidentiality
Periodically coordinate events, tours, site-visit, and attend events on behalf of The Gatehouse
Maintain development related prospect and distribution lists
Stay apprised of updates at The Gatehouse and effectively communicate relevant information to supporters
Volunteers
Act as lead volunteer coordinator responsible for volunteer communications, screening, onboarding, scheduling, and on-site supervision.
Monitor all branded channels for volunteer-related inquiries and promptly take the appropriate action
Act as primary point of contact for volunteer project coordination, check-in, and provide day-of-project supervision
Lead the development of new volunteer projects ensuring detailed project plans are recorded; Guarantee all needs are satisfied at least 24-hours before the project begins
Maintain the volunteer calendar and provide regular updates to key staff members
Maintain the volunteer database by overseeing data entry and report generation
Regularly communicate volunteer needs to supporters and stay apprised of emerging departmental volunteer needs
Event Support
Regularly attend community events and actively recruit new supporters
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers at Gatehouse Events.
Coordinate pre / post event communications to a variety of audiences
Maintain accurate event-related lists (i.e. guests, sponsors, table assignments, etc.)
Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or 2 years of related experience in a fundraising, development, volunteer, or marketing role
Proficient in using Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint)
Experience utilizing marketing email platforms (Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, etc.)
Experience working with Volunteer / Donor Databases is a plus
Must have a valid drivers license and all offers are contingent on background / drug screening
