What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at The Gatesworth?
The Gatesworth, a locally owned Independent Senior Living community with multiple US News Best Awards and STL Headliner Awards, is seeking a Full-time Maintenance Technician to join our award-winning team.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, including a weekend rotation and mandatory on-call evening/overnight shifts approximately once per month.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency repairs, including equipment, carpentry, plumbing, and minor HVAC.
Complete resident work orders promptly and efficiently.
Maintain common areas and grounds to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Assist with apartment turnovers.
Adhere to safety procedures and participate in ongoing training.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
2-5 years of building maintenance experience (required).
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
Physical requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. frequently and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
Ability to bend, climb, and communicate effectively with residents
Adequate hearing and vision
Position Wage: DOE, Starting at $25/hr.
