Job Summary:
This position reports to the Controller requiring advanced GL accounting knowledge and is responsible for preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, revenue reports, sales and use tax filing, payroll allocation, as well as reviewing accounts payable and other operational functions.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting:
· Support business partners through understanding their expenses, assisting with accruals and analyzing their results
· Create complex journal entries
· Develop and review revenue and expense entries
· Perform balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
· Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
· Assist with month-end reporting packages including variance explanations, operational metrics, and various schedules
· Post payroll in the accounting software system
· File Sales and Use Tax
· Work with Outside Audit firm on tax filings
· Manage Capital Expenditure process
· Serve as a back-up for the Circulation and Production models
Reporting:
· Manage month-end close and reporting cycle
· Prepare financial statements
· Prepare KPI reports
· Compile monthly financial statements and manage reporting responsibilities and compliancy for the associated non-profit, Gazette Charities
Other functions & responsibilities:
· Provide back-up to the Accounting team and other partners
· Serve as a partner to the operations to analyze key decisions and understand the business, operational and compliance impacts

Minimum Education & Work Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree with a finance or accounting emphasis
· 3 years in various accounting positions
· GL accounting experience required

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
