Summary:
This position is responsible for the secondary review of raw data. The raw data consists of chromatography and the resulting tabulated qualification and quantification information related to the analysis of environmental samples on a high-resolution mass spectrometer. Competency in the requirements of EPA methods 8290, 1613, and 1668 is preferred; however, any environmental data review experience will be considered. This position requires the individual to work with minimal supervision. The person in this job exercises the authority necessary to ensure that data packages submitted to clients meet the necessary analytical requirements and all client specifications.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Reviews raw data and data packages, including forms, EDD's, standards traceability, run logs, raw data, and any other components of the data package specified by the client.
-Conducts (as needed) final reviews of data packages for clients.
-Develops an understanding of client-specific data package requirements
-Interfaces with management and peers to ensure that data packages are completed on time.
-Supports internal and external customers in responding to data questions.
-Employs strong analytical data interpretation skills.
-May represent the company to clients and auditors.
-Supports project managers in the review of new contract requirements and provides input on laboratory detection levels, capabilities, and data package requirements.
-Develops a working knowledge of environmental regulations and required analytical methods in pertinent areas.
-Serves as a technical resource to the laboratory.
-Mentors employees in pertinent disciplines.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Typical Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a science discipline (chemistry/biology).
Other Knowledge Requirements:
- Demonstrated organizational skills and detail-oriented work ethic
- Fundamental principles, practices and techniques of chemistry are a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong mathematics skills a plus
- Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to, WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, and other standard operating programs/systems
- Attention to detail and teamwork are key
- Trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
The physical demands outlined are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
Mobility to work in a lab and office setting
- Use of standard office and lab equipment and stamina to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
- Work is performed in a laboratory setting which is subject to chemicals, and potential fumes, gasses, noxious odors and related items typical for this environment. Safety equipment is provided, and use is mandatory.
