What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Theater Manager position at The Gem Theater?
The Gem Theater is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee theater operations Thursday through Monday every week. Primary responsibilities include:
- Executing opening and closing procedures.
- Organizing workflow and delegation of shift responsibilities among a team of employees.
- Working with projection equipment to build and quality check all movies and programming.
- Managing inventory and overseeing ordering.
- Communicating positively with customers through various platforms including email, facebook, instagram, phone and face to face.
Applicants should have a passion for arts and movies and a commitment to creating an inclusive space for all patrons and employees. As an aspiring arts center, we host a variety of events including live-music, open mics and performances. Experience with live events and/or food and beverage is an asset.
The position requires the Assistant Manager to be on-site every Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
Sunday, and Monday. The ideal candidate will be available 20 hours per week. Candidates must be 21 and comfortable serving alcohol. Pay is commensurate with experience. Interested candidates should send a resume and cover letter outlining how they are a good fit for the position.
About The Gem: The Gem is a 3-screen independent theater in Bethel, Maine. The Gem opened in 2016 after a community Kickstarter campaign to help finance new digital projection equipment. In addition to blockbuster and independent movies, The Gem partners with Bethel
Area Arts and Music (BAAM) to host art films, performances and live music.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
