PLEASE NOTE: This position is 100% onsite, and applicants must live within a commutable distance to WRAIR in Silver Spring, MD. A Security Clearance will be required. Must be legally authorized to work for any US employer without future Sponsorship.
Salary Range:
$83k- $85k. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Responsibilities:
- Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), International Air Transportation Association (IATA), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and infection control procedures, as applicable
- Demonstrates proficiency in performing basic study related procedures and/or experiments as required
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of laboratory experiments
- Observe recording, measurements, and report results in notebook and technical reports
- Collection of data, data analysis and data entry
- Preparation of interim and final progress reports
- Dissemination of research results
- Process and ship samples according to regulations and protocol requirements
- Receive and record shipments received
- Attend conferences and present research findings on behalf of the research team
- Assist in the preparation of manuscripts
- Maintain and update literature library of journal articles relevant to the research topic
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all research records
- Ensure cleanliness, disinfection and maintenance of all areas and equipment
- Supervise and train research personnel
- Oversee receipt and inspection of raw materials, lab ordering and stocking, as requested
- Document all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research, as required
- Interact and communicate effectively with Principal Investigator, other site personnel, research participants, The Geneva Foundation and the study sponsor
- Comply with rules and regulations as applicable to assigned duty station
- Maintain and update files of all applicable regulatory documentation for IACUC or IRB (including protocols, approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.) as well as any communications with the sponsor or any other Federal or regulatory office (including prior approvals, change in scope, etc.)
- Maintain and promote Geneva’s core values of Integrity, Superior Service to Customers, Quality, Teamwork, Innovation, and Respect for All.
- Possess a working knowledge of The Geneva Foundation’s Employee Handbook, User’s Guide and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as applicable
- Remain accessible and accountable at all times during work hours and collects messages at least twice daily
- Return telephone messages within 24 hours of receipt; return email messages in a timely manner as appropriate
- Comply with the dress code of The Geneva Foundation and assigned duty station
- Promote positive, professional relationships with co-workers and The Geneva Foundation
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- 3-5 years’ experience in the biomedical field preferred
- 3-5 years non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
- 1-3 years’ experience in staff or project management
- Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
- Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
- Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in fast-paced, high-pressured environment with strict deadlines and to manage multiple projects
- Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software
- Masters in Science is strongly preferred
- Strong data management and processing skills
