Licensed Social Worker - Clinical Mental Health Specialist

Overview

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled licensed social worker to join our team as a Clinical Social Work Specialist. This role will play a critical part in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with mental illness and/or those experiencing psychosocial stressors.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments and summarize case information for diagnosis, treatment planning, and discharge preparation.
2. Collaborate with the treatment team to develop, monitor, and modify treatment plans.
3. Identify and recommend appropriate services based on assessment, including civil or penal code commitment.
4. Provide individual and group therapy as outlined in the treatment plan.
5. Perform suicide and crisis risk assessments and interventions.
6. Participate in risk assessment, evaluation, and recommendation for alternate level of care placement.
7. Coordinate discharge planning activities and facilitate access to community resources.
8. Respond to requests from individuals, family members, courts, and community agencies as required.
9. Consult with colleagues on behavior management treatment issues.
10. Prepare verbal and written reports and provide court testimony as needed.
11. Participate in professional meetings, training, and conferences.

Qualifications

• Masters degree from an accredited school of social work and valid license as a Clinical Social Worker issued by the state.
• Knowledge of principles, procedures, and techniques of clinical social work, including psychological or social aspects of mental, developmental, and physical disabilities.
• Ability to establish and maintain confidence and cooperation with individuals and agencies.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
