Responsibilities
Role and Responsibilities
You will ensure that Transportation Officers are properly scheduled to transport inmates and vehicles are ready and available. Please note that you may perform the duties of the Transportation Officer when necessary. Your functions will include to :
- Assist Transportation Supervisor or Manager in the training of Transportation Officers on policies and procedures related to transportatin of detainees.
- Schedule Transportation Officers work assignments.
- Monitor the Transportation Officers during the preparation, leaving, and returning from the facility to ensure the care and custody of detainees.
- Ensure and review maintenance of all assigned vehicles.
- Respond, investigate, and prepare reports on any accidents by assigned Transportation Officers.
- Transport detainees in case of emergency or lack of Transportation / Perimeter Officers.
- Ensure Transportation Officers semi-annual weapons qualifications are current.
- Ensure all Mission Trackers are complete and accurate.Maintains documentation and supports records with monthly billings.
- Maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) files.
- Maintain regulatory knowledge by attending at least eight (8) hours per year of transportation or regulatory topics related to transportation activities. Creates networks with transportatin authorites to ensure the facilit is knowledgeable on transportation activies.
- May perform the duties of the Transpotation Supervisor or Manager in hi / her absence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
