Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Pediatrician diagnoses, treats and helps prevent children's diseases and injuries.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- The Pediatrician examines patients or orders, performs, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.
- The Pediatrician examines children regularly to assess their growth and development
- Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children
- The Pediatrician collects, records and maintains patient information such as medical history, reports and examination results
- Advises patients, parents or guardians and management concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention
- The Pediatrician treats children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns
- Explains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardians.
- The Pediatrician monitors patients' conditions and progress and reevaluates treatments as necessary
- Plans and executes medical care programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescents.
- The Pediatrician refers patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
- May provide consulting services to other physicians.
- The Pediatrician plans, implements, or administers health programs or standards for prevention or treatment of injury or illness.
- Provides twenty-four (24) hour-on-call coverage to advise nursing staff in the care of residents.
- The Pediatrician prepares reports for government or management of birth, death, and disease statistics, workforce evaluations, or medical status of individuals.
- May assist with routine medical examination for adult residents that are referred by nursing and professional staff as directed by established procedures.
- The Pediatrician supervises the development of policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines related to pediatric diseases and illnesses.
- Performs regular chart reviews and audits on a monthly basis for quality assurance processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Medical degree in medicine with specialization in pediatrics from an accredited school and appropriate active unrestricted licensed to practice in the state in which the facility is located.
- Two (2) years of direct work experience and certified by the American Board of Pediatrics preferred.
- Completion of a U.S.-based pediatrics residency program required.
- In depth knowledge of children’s epidemiology and infectious diseases
- Must be an active listener, patient and calm, able to command the respect and confidence of patients and staff, and outstanding diagnostic and problem-solving abilities committed to the objectives of the facility.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
- Familiarity with traditional and web-based prescription systems.
Pay
Pay USD $185.00/Hr.Salary : $185
