Job Summary
This position oversees custody, care, and control of detainees, enforcing rules, regulations, and policies. Duties include security, supervision, and assistance with daily activities.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining custody, care, and control of detainees
- Enforcing facility and contracting agency policies and procedures
- Providing security in program activities and supervising labor crews
- Conducting shakedowns for contraband materials
- Assisting detainees with injuries, illnesses, or trauma
- Reporting maintenance or repairs needs
- Completing training courses as required
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- College coursework or advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services, or a related field
- Training in cultural diversity or sensitivity
- Ability to work overtime and be physically alert on any shift assigned
- Work experience in a correctional setting preferred
- Maturity, flexibility, and high tolerance to mental stress
