What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transition Specialist position at The GEO Group?
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Transition Specialist. In this role, you will participate in training sessions to develop your skills and knowledge, utilizing our proprietary electronic case management system, GEOtrack, to record case management notes and track inmate progress.
As a Transition Specialist, you will develop transition plans in conjunction with inmates, making appropriate linkages to community resources prior to release. You will also conduct individual and group cognitive behavioral treatment sessions as needed, establishing relationships with community-based service providers to connect released inmates with resources and pro-social people.
You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of public domain services, such as National Institute of Corrections, National Re-Entry Resource Center, and FDIC MoneySmart program, and review opportunities to transition inmates into their communities through community-based services like transition centers and community residential centers.
