Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at The GEO Group. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and secure transportation of detainees between destinations.
Your primary duties will include:
- Assisting management in resolving unique or unexpected problems that may arise during transportation activities.
- Reviewing vehicle inspection reports and developing summaries for transportation management.
- Maintaining permits and licenses for assigned vehicles.
- Evaluating safety equipment before initiating trips and notifying transportation management of any issues.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be expected to:
- Properly track Department of Transportation hours of service on electronic logging devices.
- Participate in interviewing and screening of applicant transport officers.
- Review necessary paperwork and submit reports to transportation management according to established policies and procedures.
- Ensure all missions meet or exceed program-specific safety measures while transporting detainees.
Requirements
- Active certification in corrections, law enforcement, or military demonstrating satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
- A valid CDL Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement driver's license.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a law enforcement officer with arrest authority or a minimum of three years of prisoner handling and detention experience as a corrections, detention, or military police officer.
- Previous experience may be credited toward meeting the mandatory experience requirement.
