- In support of our missions and values, the ESIA seeks an outstanding individual to be a Senior Academic Advisor.
The Elliott School’s Office of Undergraduate Academic Advising provides advising services to approximately 2,000 undergraduate students majoring in International Affairs, Asian Studies, Middle East Studies, and Latin American and Hemispheric Studies. Through individual and group advising, workshops, and programs, the Undergraduate Academic Advising Office empowers students to develop goals, navigate academic programs, utilize available resources, and explore the field of international affairs. The undergraduate academic advising team includes general advisors, senior advisors, two assistant directors, one director, and an administrative coordinator who work in a highly collaborative and supportive work environment.
The Senior Academic Advisor will report to the Assistant Director or Director of Undergraduate Academic Advising.
Primary Responsibilities include :
Specialty Areas and Projects will include one of the following areas, which are shared across all of our Senior Academic Advisors :
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
This is a hybrid position with some days on-campus and some days remote. Sensitivity to, and flexibility around, work-life balance is a hallmark of the Elliott School professional experience. Also core to the engagement of staff, the Office supports opportunities, both on campus and beyond, for professional development.
Minimum Qualifications :
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
