Job Summary
This Laborer/Operator will operate a water truck, skid steer, and other ancillary heavy equipment to support the crew. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining the plant at various times throughout the day. Union membership is required for this position.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate water trucks, skid steers, and other heavy equipment to assist in the daily operation and maintenance of the site.
- Support the crew with the necessary equipment for various tasks, including but not limited to, clearing debris, grading, and material handling.
- Maintain and clean the heavy equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety standards.
- Perform basic plant maintenance tasks at designated times, including equipment checks, lubrication, and cleaning.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment and performing maintenance tasks.
- Perform general labor duties such as digging, lifting, and carrying materials.
- Monitor plant equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- Work in coordination with other crew members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting materials as needed.
- Performs other duties as necessary or as assigned.
- Immediately report any safety hazards, accidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide support to other team members.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
- The position will require work outside of normal business hours.
- Ability to work long hours in challenging physical conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Strong mechanical skills preferred
- Represent The Gerken Companies to customers in a professional manner, supporting the company's goals.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors while ensuring efficient workflow.
- Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required.
