Finally, community support is our passion because we do more than work in the communities our companies serve; we live here, too.Job Summary : The Lowboy Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of heavy equipment such as pavers, rollers, excavators, end-loaders and other machinery to various job sites for construction projects. Primarily operating during first shift, this role offers the benefit of being home every night. The driver will maintain and operate a commercial lowboy truck and utilize fleet management software for dispatch assignments.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Safely operate a commercial lowboy truck to transport various heavy equipment to job sites for construction projects.
- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of equipment.
- Load and unload equipment, using chains and binders to secure loads for transport.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition and maintain the truck's cleanliness.
- Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members.
- Learn and utilize fleet management software for dispatch assignments.Skills / Abilities :
- Valid Class A CDL with manual transmission required.
- Driving record within MVR policy guidelines.
- Familiarity with the safe operation of construction and / or paving equipment.
- Knowledge of all USDOT and FMCSA safety regulations.
- Understanding of DOT weight restrictions and FMCSA cargo securement rules and regulations.
- Must have a current valid DOT physical.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
- Demonstrate good judgment and discretion.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by business demands.Education and Experience :
- Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required.
- 5 years of lowboy / carry-all experience preferred.Working Environment and Physical Demands :
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
- Must be able to access and navigate the facility.
- Able to safely climb and descend ladders.
- Must be able to lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in operational areas.
