Job Overview :

You are a self-starter who is unafraid to interact with people and needs minimal supervision, who can bring their toolkit of legal drafting, communication, and organizational skills to a new and expanding law firm where no two days are the same and there’s plenty of room to grow. Reporting Relationship :
The Legal Assistant works under the supervision of the Owner / Managing Attorney.
Responsibilities :
Client / Visitor-Focused Tasks
1. Answer, screen, and transfer incoming calls. Take detailed messages, as appropriate.
2. Maintain the calendar of the Firm’s managing attorney, set their appointments.
3. Greet clients, visitors, attorneys and employees via phone or in person.
4. Create a positive and professional first impression on behalf of the firm.
5. Facilitate check-in process, including compiling necessary intake paperwork and preparing meeting space.
6. Monitor progress of cases as they work through the pipeline. Provide client updates, as needed.
Administrative Tasks
1. File, organize, draft and fax legal documents and correspondence (knowledge of e-filing is a plus.)
2. Case management assistance, i.e. creating files for client matters, data entry into CRM.
3. Help schedule, prepare and execute Firm events, both in and out of the office.
4. Organize and expedite the Firm’s workflows.
5. Help manage and monitor Managing Attorney’s emails.
6. Perform other general office duties as time permits.
Education & Experience Requirements :
High school diploma or the equivalent. Must have prior Law Office experience, preferably in Estate Planning and / or Probate. Higher education and Paralegal certification is a plus.
