Must possess a current, valid Cosmetology license from the state where the license was issued or from the Virginia Board for Cosmetology of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Primary Job Duties
- Interact with residents as it relates to appropriate scheduling of appointments for cosmetology services, in keeping with the resident’s schedule.
- Provide cosmetology services (including but not limited to: shampoo, set, roller patterns, comb out, cut, perm, color, basic manicure) in keeping with rules and regulations of the State of Virginia, as well as with all rules, policies and procedures of The Glebe.
- Practice positive resident relations in accordance with the Resident’s Rights; respond to resident and family inquiries, concerns and/or problems.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information.
- Practice positive employee relations when interacting with our employees within the facility.
- Observe/practice pertinent cost control techniques and methods.
- Assist with inventory control of supplies and equipment to meet resident needs; assist with preventative maintenance of department equipment, i.e. complete appropriate documentation as it relates to supply inventory and maintenance of departmental equipment.
- Practice cosmetology services in keeping with prices developed/established by The Glebe.
- Post appropriate prices of services offered in keeping with current cosmetology prices developed/established by The Glebe.
- Post appropriate licensure of each licensed employee.
- Conduct daily audit at close of beauty shop hours, transport monies received during business hours as well as charge tickets and/or other appropriate documentation to the Accounts Receivable Clerk for disposition or resident billing.
- Implement and practice infection control policies and procedures; ensure compliance to universal precautions and other infection control guidelines; inform supervisor of any real or potential infection control concerns.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the Beauty Shop areas.
