Shifts: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. 4 days on, 2 off.

Requirements
- Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant with the State of Louisiana
- Must be people-oriented individual, have good communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
- Computer skills appropriate to fulfill E-documentation
- High School/GED and Louisiana Certification
- One year experience as a C N A
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides basic resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and assists in the maintenance of the unit environment. Participates in all areas of the residents’ activities of daily living.
Primary:
- Attends to all resident personal hygiene and personal care needs and immediately reports any changes in condition to nursing or household leadership.
- Understands and accepts that resident care is continuous throughout the work period and although care may be provided on a planned basis, it must also be provided at unscheduled times as residents’ needs require.
- Performs continuous direct and indirect resident care as assigned &/or directed by supervisor, and which is consistent with the needs of the residents.
- Answers resident call lights. Responds to emergency call lights.
- Provides restorative therapy under the leadership of therapy professionals and in accordance with the resident’s functional maintenance plan.
- Functions as the resident’s closest advocate ensuring that resident is protected from abuse and neglect.
- Practices effective communication techniques with residents, visitors, and coworkers.
- Maintains appropriate documentation of care as policy and regulation requires.
- Receives and gives report to charge nurse & team members at change of shift.
- Understands & adheres to residents’ rights.
- Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges of residents.
- Transports and escorts residents as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintains clean spaces in the household, including resident rooms, common spaces, and the kitchen.
- Supports all aspects of the household environment, including pets, plants, children, visitors and guests, facilitating all planned and spontaneous needs and activities
- Attends staff development/in-service activities to improve knowledge, skills, and to maintain competency.
- Promotes a positive image of the facility.
- Makes on-going effort to familiarize self with state and federal long-term care regulations and provide care following these guidelines.
- Assists with preparation and service of resident meals as assigned.
