POSITION: Janitor
POSITION: Janitor
SHIFT: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Friday - Tuesday)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Cleaning, sanitizing, and tidying all assigned areas of facility within established guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be people-oriented individual, have good communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- Well organized and self-motivated.
- Ability to read, speak, write, and follow oral and written instructions
- Experience with the use of housekeeping devices and machines
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsibility for providing cleanliness of assigned areas, care of equipment, and efficient use of supplies.
- Sweeps, damp mops, and buffs floors in tile halls and foyers daily
- Vacuums carpeted areas daily
- Empties and cleans trash cans and garbage containers
- Sweeps and cleans outside porches
- Assists with movement and storage of furniture
- Assists with storage and upkeep of equipment and supplies
- Scrubs, strips, and waxes floors regularly, as appropriate (remove strips and waxes)
- Keeps janitorial equipment and storage area clean and neat
- Daily trash pick-up
- Prepares vacant apartments for new renters
- Completes work orders in a timely manner as reported by staff and residents
- Maintain awareness of environmental safety
- Changes AC filters per schedule
- Assist with light maintenance duties
Other related projects, duties and responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to fulfill job requirements in a high-energy, high-traffic area.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 90 pounds.
