The Glenbrook Club is currently seeking candidates for a seasonal Assistant Golf Superintendent position for the 2025 golf season with full-time hours available from March through November. The Assistant Golf Superintendent supervises and participates in the completion of daily maintenance of the golf course areas including maintaining tees, greens, fairways, bunkers, and landscaping, as well as conducting repairs to irrigation systems and equipment under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent.
The Glenbrook Club is a private club located on Lake Tahoe’s beautiful east shore in Glenbrook, Nevada. Club members and their guests enjoy a unique nine-hole golf course, Golf Shop and Clubhouse. The Glenbrook Club was established in 1926 as the first golf course in Nevada and has bene private since 1998. The course offers both beauty & challenge and has been listed by Golf Digest as one of the world’s most enjoyable nine-hole courses. Rounds producing the best score require accurate shot making, as golf great Ben Hogan noted while playing his 1948 exhibition on our course. In total, five Masters Champions have graced Glenbrook’s fairways through the years.
Hourly wages for the seasonal Assistant Golf Course Superintendent position will start between at $28 - $32/hour and is commensurate upon prior experience and job qualifications.
Position Requirements
- Relevant degree, certification in turf management and/or a minimum of three (3) years work experience in golf course maintenance, groundskeeping, and/or landscaping.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and great communication skills with ability to train team members in all aspects of the golf course maintenance.
- Desire to make an impact, grow as turf grass manager, take pride in your work and the work of the team.
- Strong knowledge of best agronomic practices for turfgrass, Toro irrigation systems, bunker renovation and maintenance.
- Experience in mixing, handling and spraying products.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibrations.
- Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
- May need to use some protective equipment such as a respirator, gloves, earplugs, eye guards/visors, boots, and hats.
- This position may require the working of early morning hours, weekends, and holidays.
