Looking for candidates in one of the following locations:  MN: Minneapolis/St Paul WI: Madison or Milwaukee MI: Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing Business Development Manager  Must be able to travel at least 75%    The Business Development team is hiring a Business Development Manager (BDM) to improve market share by building and maintaining business relationships with prospective clients. The BDM is responsible for business development activities from lead generation through supporting the Business Development team through contract signing, and client post-service follow-ups for the achievement of customer satisfaction and revenue generation.   Inclusion is a core value of Public Knowledge®. We value and seek to create a more diverse workforce. The right candidate will combine this knowledge with a combination of superior organizational, research, and analytical skills, plus the ability to be productive in a virtual company. The successful candidate will have experience with building relationships with various government agencies in their state, identifying new opportunities and areas of growth, have superior writing skills, be responsive to time-sensitive and deadline-driven proposal efforts, be flexible in meeting multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.      What We are Looking For     Experience working with state agencies in Colorado Organizational skills    Analytical skills   Research skills   Writing skills    Ability to work with a virtual team   Collaborative  Tolerance for ambiguity    Interpersonal communication skills   Ability to juggle a diverse workload with competing priorities   Responsibilities     Meets with potential clients to negotiate and secure business and maintain relationships  Delivers sales presentations to clients  Ensures clients are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service  Maintains a strong understanding of our industries, regulations, processes, and procedures  Supports and implements strategic plans to accomplish company goals  Forecasts client activity and sets performance goals accordingly  Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs  Maintains a strong understanding of PK’s service lines  Maintains all CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software, including Hubspot  Maintains records of all visits and telephone contacts of the assigned regulatory clients within the database daily  Generates reports, as required  Participates in tradeshows and/or regulatory conferences, when necessary  Other duties as assigned    Required Education and Other Credentials:  Bachelor’s Degree required  Valid Driver’s License  Required Skills and Experience:  Experience in State, Local, and Education (SLED) At least 5 years’ experience selling professional services   Proficiency in use of a Sales CRM  Demonstrated proficiency in persuasive writing using conversational English    Highly motivated, pro-active self-starter with excellent time management skills  Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint  Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team   Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with internal and external parties   Must have the ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines   Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness  Must be able to address the needs of diverse customers; understand and respond in a culturally responsive way  Must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias  Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must have the ability to travel to client sites  Ability to work from a home-based office  Must have the ability to work at a computer for extensive periods of time  Must have the ability to speak on the telephone for extended periods of time  Must have the ability to read (paper or computer screen) for extended periods of time  Must have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other Company equipment  Must have the ability to work at a computer for extensive periods of time  Must have the ability to read (both paper and computer screen) for extensive periods of time Location: This is a remote position, full-time.
