Specific Responsibilities

Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed, and quality is acceptable. Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel
Review and prepare of Design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy
Prepares engineering computations, design, and validation of engineering calculations
Review of structural elements in Navisworks 3D model relative to functionality, egress, ease of maintenance requirements, constructability, coordination with other disciplines, etc.
Review and approval of equipment and component submittals in coordination with O&M staff
Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer / Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project
Review and validation of construction RFI responses
Review and approval of shop drawings and construction models
Field engineering QA during construction and commissioning support
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Education and Typical Experience
4-year bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required
8 years of Structural Engineering experience with designing greenfield projects for industrial facilities
FE / EIT certification and an active professional engineers (PE) license is preferred.
Semiconductor experience preferred
Knowledge of design practices including specifications, codes, building materials and costs, and construction techniques.
Working knowledge of different analysis software such as RISA, Enercalc or equivalents.
Working knowledge of applicable Building Codes, ASCE7, AISC, ACI and Standards
Experience in facility system design and the preparation of structural design, drawings, and specifications.
Experience in design utilizing different material steel, concrete, etc.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of engineers and designers on multiple, concurrently executed projects.
Good organizational and communication skills. Expresses ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing.
Accepts responsibility for own actions and honors commitments.
Willingness and ability to travel to client offices, other Parsons’s offices, and project sites for meetings, performing inspections and walk-downs and to assist field personnel and construction team with structural technical issues.
Proficient in using office personal computers, office networks, and the Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
