About the Role:
As an Equipment Operator in our Information and Media Services industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, backhoes, and excavators, to move materials and perform various tasks. Your attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols will be essential in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. You will work closely with other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Experience operating heavy equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in heavy equipment operation
- Experience in the Information and Media Services industry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Responsibilities
- Drive an Electric Pallet Jack, Order Picker, Stand-up Reach Truck
- Move levers and presses pedals to drive or go up and down
- Positions forks, lifting platforms, or other lifting devices under, loaded/unloaded pallets
- Inventories materials
- Loads or unloads materials onto or from pallets, skids, or lifting devices
- Understands and performs equipment safety checks prior to operating equipment
- Reports any equipment irregularities to the supervisor immediately
- Follows all safety regulations and helps maintain a safe workplace
- Must complete and maintain OSHA-approved equipment certification
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read and understand instructions
- Ability to perform basic math computations
- Work independently and problem solve
- Start and complete assignments in a timely, unsupervised manner
- Must be able to work with a handheld RF Scanner
- Must be capable of lifting 70lbs
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Must be willing to be cross trained on other duties within the department/warehouse, which may require climbing stairs (working on the mezzanine)
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to warm and/or humid conditions.
Skills:
As an Equipment Operator, you will need to have strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. You will also need to have excellent hand-eye coordination and be able to operate heavy equipment with precision. Attention to detail and the ability to follow safety protocols are essential in this role. Additionally, proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics is preferred. Your skills in operating heavy equipment and performing routine maintenance will be utilized on a daily basis to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery.
