The Goddard School located in Arvada, CO (Ward Road) is a brand new school that is seeking fun, energetic individuals who are qualified as an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) and looking to grow in their teaching career. Our goal is to help children develop a lifelong love of learning. Our teachers work in a student-centered, nurturing environment with the support and collaboration of management, staff and families.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with supervisors, colleagues, students, and parents/guardians
Develop, write and implement effective lesson plans
Maintain a portfolio for each child
Prepare a Daily Activity Report for each child
Prepare, adapt, arrange, and maintain preschool materials
Meet the individual needs of the children in your care
Ensure safety of children by providing sufficient and appropriate supervision and guidance of children at all times
Interact with the children to support the development of life skills through play, exploration, learning, self-esteem, and social skills
Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning
Promote positive behavior and healthy peer relationships through social emotional development
Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and colleagues
Participate in staff meetings and training
Design an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
Comply with Goddard's Quality Assurance standards
Comply with Colorado Department of Early Childhood Licensing Rules/Regulations
Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements
Continue your own education/professional development
Requirements
Experience: At least one year of classroom experience is required for a lead teacher.
Education: For a lead teacher, a Bachelors degree, Associates degree, or CDA with emphasis on Early Childhood Education or related field is required.
For a lead teacher, the candidate must be Early Childhood Teacher qualified under the Colorado state regulations, including passing all required background checks.
Must be CPR/First Aid Certified or complete within 30 days of employment
Ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved
Ability to evacuate and respond immediately to emergency situations
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Occasional lifting, five (5) to fifty (50) pounds
• Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting
