What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toddler Teacher or Teacher's Aide position at The Goddard School - Brooklyn Park?
We want people who want to be Teachers during a child's most formative years.
The owner and administration team are on site supporting teachers from open to close.
We are looking to add a teacher or teacher's aide to our growing Toddler department!
We use a team teaching approach where everyone:
- Develops lesson plans
- Meeting the individual's needs of the children,
- Parent communication,
- Participation in staff and training meetings,
- Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom,
- Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
- Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level.
- Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills.
- Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
- Building teamwork.
- Using assessment tools.
- Committing to continuing education.
Teacher Qualifications:
- AA or CDA with two years experience
- OR B.A. degree in Early Childhood Education or similar field and one year experience
- OR A similar mix of education and experience
Assistant Teacher Qualifications:
- 12 post-secondary credits in early childhood development or a related field
- Or B.S, in any field
- Experience working with children ages 6 weeks-6 years.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
Aide Teacher Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Experience with 6 weeks to 6 years preferred, not required.
