What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at The Goddard School - Edmond I?
The Goddard School on Western is looking for an energetic, professional cook to add to our faculty!
Daily Responsibilities:
- Follow a pre-made menu using pre-written recipes with efficiency
- Maintain knowledge of children's allergies and the ability to accommodate restrictions of children enrolled in school
- Prepare and deliver food for 200 students to multiple classrooms following a daily schedule
- Ability to work independently and under the instruction of our Kitchen Manager
- Ensuring food items are always in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations relating to food handling
- Calculate portion sizes according to state regulations
- Maintain the overall cleanliness in the kitchen and applicable appliances
- Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients prior to prepping or serving
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
- Unboxing and organizing food items for future use
- Store leftover inventory appropriately according to state and federal guidelines
- Execute opening and closing procedures
Required Experience:
- Food Service Certification or willingness to complete upon hiring
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Willing to undergo a background check
