What You’ll Do as a VPK Assistant:
- Support the lead teacher in creating a fun and engaging learning environment.
- Interact with children positively and foster a love for learning.
- Assist with daily activities, including structured lessons, playtime, meals, and outdoor activities, while ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
- Communicate with parents about their child’s progress and daily experiences.
- Help maintain an organized and welcoming classroom, setting up learning materials and assisting with classroom management.
- Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development through interactive and age-appropriate activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred).
- Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and passionate about early childhood education.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. for child safety and program facilitation.
