A Teacher at The Goddard School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher are responsible to work together and in conjunction with the entire faculty.

General Qualifications
A Teacher must meet the qualifications of his/her state and those set forth in the National Standards for hiring (see www.bls.gov), and more.
Teacher Responsibilities
A Teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment by:
- Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in your classroom.
- Understanding and implementing, when necessary, The Goddard School’s emergency procedures.
- Posting schedules that meet the children’s need for routine and learning.
Ensuring a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs by:
- Building teamwork.
- Developing lesson plans.
- Managing your classroom according to The Goddard School standards.
Lead Teacher Qualification Requirements:
- CDA, Associates or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Prior classroom experience (Early Childhood)
Assistant Teacher Qualification Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Prior childcare experience required
- Pursuing degree
These positions are supervised and evaluated by the Director but receives work support and assignments from the Director, Owner or Assistant Directors.
