Position Summary
The Finance Liaison assists potential and current franchisees/borrowers with their financial needs, to obtain adequate funding, and functions as a liaison between franchisees and lenders. This position is similar to a loan officer, as they both work to ensure loans are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and make sure timeframes are met. They stay abreast of new lending products to better meet the borrower’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between franchisee and lender, answer financial questions and provide assistance and communication throughout the process
- Evaluate and review borrower’s financial information and assist to find a loan structure and lender that’s right for them
- Explain lending requirements, ensure they can be met and review any deficiencies
- Prepare cost sheets, review lending documents, such as proposal letters, commitment letters, loan structures and closing information for each borrower
- Be familiar with Personal Financial Statements needed for internal Underwriting
- Maintain relationships with Preferred Lenders and develop new ones
- Make sure time commitments are met for loan approvals and closings
- Work closely with lender’s construction and loan closing departments
- Work closely with internal departments and communicate as needed
- Assist the Finance Director with tasks needed
- Update Finance reports, tracking and any departmental responsibilities as needed
Experience and Competencies
Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in SBA, Commercial lending or general SBA knowledge
- At least 1 year of experience in lending forms, documents and loan approvals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; required
- Customer service, organization, communication and time management skills; required
Highly Desired
- Experience in franchising preferred
There will be periodic requirements to travel for in-person events, at the discretion of your manager or the requirement of the company.
