The Goddard School, located in Marshallton/West Chester, an Early Childhood Education center, is currently hiring a full time Pre-K teacher. Experience working with children under the age of 6 is necessary. A Teacher at The Goddard School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment. To accomplish required job duties, teachers work closely with a lead or co-teacher along with the entire faculty and administration.

Our school is open Monday - Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm.

Job Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
• Help to implement weekly lesson plans based on Goddard’s Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes
• Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence while supporting each child’s social and emotional development, and individual needs
• Establish positive and effective family relations through interactive parent communication
• Appropriate and professional communication with fellow staff and management, cultivating a healthy and functional working environment that fosters teamwork
• Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions
• Ensure compliance with Goddard’s Quality Assurance and PA state standards
• Work with a team of other teachers in the classroom
  
  
  

Job Requirements

All candidates, who wish to be considered must meet the following criteria:

• To be considered candidate must have prior classroom experience at a childcare center or related experience working with children under the age of 6
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred
• Strong work ethic, leadership and communication skills
• Positive attitude and inherent love for young children
• Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Be available to start employment within a few weeks of accepting an offer
• 18 with a high school degree or GED.
