The Gold Leash is growing — and we’re looking for a Kennel Shift Lead who’s passionate about animals, thrives in a team setting, and knows how to lead by example.
What You’ll Do
As a Kennel Shift Lead, you’ll be responsible for guiding a team of Pet Techs during your assigned shift, ensuring high standards of care, cleanliness, safety, and communication. Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and working alongside the team in group play, kennel cleaning, and feeding routines
- Ensuring timely task completion and upholding facility cleanliness and safety
- Rotating and managing dogs through group play with a strong understanding of dog behavior
- Communicating clearly with management and assisting in shift changeovers
- Training new team members on proper procedures
- Using our software system (Gingr) to manage tasks, services, and animal notes
- Handling customer interactions and ensuring dogs are checked in/out properly
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in animal care, dog behavior, or kennel/dog daycare settings
- Confidence in handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Comfortable working on your feet, lifting up to 50 lbs, and getting dirty
- Strong time management, team leadership, and communication skills
- Able to manage tasks independently while overseeing a team
- Familiarity with rotational playgroups and kennel safety best practices
- Comfortable using or learning kennel software (we use Gingr)
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be at least 18 years old
