Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, New Jersey. Perform and play a key role within the monthly and quarterly closing process, including but not limited to: performing monthly and quarterly information requests across other areas of the Firm, including Fund Controllers and Product Controllers; preparing and recording consolidation and deconsolidation entries in accordance with ASC 810 to properly reflect the Balance Sheet, P&L, and Owner's Equity; preparing and providing disclosure information for SEC 10-Q/K reporting (i.e. ASC 820, ASC 810, & ASC 230); preparing and providing information to regulatory reporting for various filings (i.e. FFIEC 101, Y-9C, & FFIEC 109); and compiling documentation to substantiate all balance sheet accounts. Prepare technical accounting analysis of consolidation requirements for new fund and product launches based on the appropriate consolidation framework detailed in ASC 810. Perform quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 review to assess consolidation requirements, including but not limited to: liaising with various internal groups to obtain fund and shareholder information across existing fund population; aggregating and performing comprehensive analysis on large volume of data to ensure accuracy of information; and performing reconciliation across reports and systems to highlight and investigate issues or inconsistencies. Design and implement automation programs to achieve process improvements to existing workflows. Handle inquiries and provide supporting documents for internal and external audit requests. Provide support for various adhoc reporting and analysis requests from numerous areas of the Firm, including business, tax, regulatory reporting, and financial reporting.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with the following: preparing Financial Statements following U.S. GAAP accounting standards; reviewing general ledger and journal entries to analyze and reconcile accounts, including investigation of fluctuations in both P&L and balance sheet accounts over reporting periods; incorporating fixed income products and market impacts to Financial Statements including mark to market and fx revaluations; performing analysis and ad hoc projects and implementing process improvements related to the accounting and control function; planning and consolidating subledger details to support Financial Statements from various groups globally, including legal entity controllers, product controllers, and funding controllers; coordinating with global teams and presenting to senior management on the valuation and financial statement impact of new business activities; working with financial control infrastructure and financial control risk assessments; and utilizing tools including Microsoft Office Applications and SQL for reporting and enhancements.

Salary Range: Annual base salary for this Jersey City, New Jersey-based position is $94,300/year - $160,000/year.
