Tennis Professional
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The Tennis Professional assists with all tennis operations by conducting individual, and group instruction, and coaching to the membership and their guests. Encourages participation in the Club's tennis activities. Plans, markets, and executes tennis programs and events. The Tennis Professional acts as the Club's Tennis Ambassador to enhance the value of the Club. Is aware of team members and the environment and participates as a member of the team.
Job Tasks (including but not limited to)
- Responsible for developing and promoting tennis programs and events for all age groups
- Monitor, demonstrate, and instruct students on proper techniques, tactics, and strategies to improve their overall tennis game.
- Maintains courts professionally and ensures that the environment is safe for all those who use the facility
- Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive tennis lessons and programs to ensure students develop along a pathway that will encourage continued involvement
- Involves members with programs, tournaments, and special events, fully utilizing available marketing support and tools
- Assists in supervising play and ensures proper charging of fees, and rental of equipment
- Works cooperatively with other departments to develop combined programs for the membership
- Performs racquet stringing
- Develop a positive image for Horseshoe Bend Country Club.
- Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment, and other property
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 3 years as a Tennis Professional
- High School Diploma or equivalent required College degree preferred
- USPTA certification required
- CPR, First Aid Certification, Teaching Certification (Tennis)
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Has a proven track record of running engaging tennis programs, including promoting lessons and events
- Personal and professional maturity is a key attribute of this successful candidate.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending, stooping, pulling
- Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Regularly lifts to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts to 50 pounds.
