Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The LPN will provide essential nursing care to patients, assisting with their daily needs and ensuring their comfort during treatment. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care protocols and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist with ventilate procedures and airway management for patients in need.
- Provide catheter care and support for patients requiring urinary management.
- Engage in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients leaving the facility.
- Collaborate with medical staff in a Level I Trauma Center setting, providing emergency medicine support when necessary.
- Document patient information accurately using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth and eClinicalWorks.
- Participate in behavioral health assessments and interventions as required.
- Support cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing patients and assisting the medical team.
Skills
- Proficient in ventilate procedures and airway management techniques.
- Strong knowledge of catheter care practices.
- Familiarity with electronic health records, particularly Athenahealth and eClinicalWorks.
- Experience in discharge planning processes within healthcare settings.
- Ability to work effectively in a Level I Trauma Center environment, particularly in emergency medicine situations.
- Understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Competence in assisting with cardiac catheterization procedures is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
