A renowned Catering Company based in Washington, D.C. is searching for a Director of Protocol Staffing!
Summary
The Director of Protocol Staffing is responsible for creating an overall strategy for organizing, recruiting, and planning tasks to maintain the high performance of the entire team, both in-house and on-site. The Protocol Staffing Director will report to the Enterprise Vice President and will handle recruitment, oversee training, and evaluate all protocol staff in addition to ensuring the maintenance of company assets on-site and off-site events.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the overall success of service at all events.
- Manage labor costs and other budgetary parameters. Provide accurate and timely reporting to the Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Finance.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for scheduling staff and daily operations of the Department.
- Serve as the liaison between the staffing department and other departments, always ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Train and develop direct reports to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
- Motivate and discipline staff as needed after consulting with the Vice President.
- Manage department-level human resources responsibilities including record keeping, compliance, training, hiring, firing, conflict resolution, event staffing, onsite training, VIP requirements, security & badging. Support and oversee the recruiting and onboarding efforts. Use a data-driven approach to achieve hiring goals.
- Develop and maintain a robust training and orientation program to ensure team members can provide the highest level of hospitality.
- Routinely visit events for quality control and standards assessments such as monthly audits and secret shopper programs.
- Strategize and drive revenue generation from Service Only events.
- Analyze data and maintain awareness of market competition.
- Database maintenance and deep-rooted knowledge of the inner workings tasks of CaterXpert is a must.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and events arena. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This would require the ability to travel to venue sites daily, work late evening hours, lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand for extended periods as necessary. The employee must occasionally lift weights up to 20 pounds.

50% to venue sites in the DMV area.
Required Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree and three years (3) of related experience preferably in operations, finance, hospitality, or food service industry, off-premise catering, or event planning experience are a plus.
