Cash Posting Physician Billing Manager needed to work at a Medical Management Firm in the Farmingdale/Melville area. This position is onsite Monday – Friday. Ideal candidates will have three (3) years of managerial experience, Bachelor's Degree and a vast understanding of Medical Billing and Coding requirements, cash postings, credit analysis and underpayments.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures insurance follow up is performed accurately and timely, maximizing utilization of insurance websites.
- Ensures accuracy of adjustments and balances.
- Oversees, reviews and analyzes productivity statistics and reviews with director, reporting any issues and recommends new approaches for enhancing employees’ productivity
- Assist Supervisors to reach department performance levels.
- Analyze and evaluate policies and procedures followed by department and proposed new policies/procedures and/or revisions to existing policies and procedures to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
- Conduct on the job training as needed.
- Ensure appropriate disciplinary action is taken in the event an employee does not follow policy and/or procedures.
- Determine staffing needs to adequately cover department activity and assigned responsibilities.
- Responsible for timekeeping and payroll duties such as, attendance, approving payroll and scheduling employees time off requests.
- Recruit, interview and select new employees.
- Assists internal and external customers regarding questions on third party billing.
- Handles patient complaints to conclusion.
- Implementation of quality control measures. (HIPPA and new laws of medical field).
- Monitors information related to operations.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 year experience, in a healthcare setting.
- Three (3) years supervisory experience.
- Any appropriate combination of education and experience.
Cash Posting
- Knowledge of Cash Applications
- Knowledge of implementing rules in the system
- Proficient knowledge of Excel: including multiple spreadsheets, pivot tables, V lookup, etc.
- Experience with EPIC
- Experience with Multiple Lockboxes
Credit Analyst
- Medical insurance background
- Experience in processing Medical refunds
- Knowledge of corrected claims, cancel claims
Underpayments
- Understanding contracts
- Competent in math calculations
- Competent is use of Excel
Skills:
- Knowledge of HIPPA regulations and maintains current industry knowledge.
- Full knowledge of medical terminology, ICD and CPT coding.
- Knowledge of New York State Third Party Regulations.
- Credit and Collection Practices.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Displays courtesy, tact and diplomacy when dealing with employees, patients, physicians and outside institutions.
- Dependability – the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management directions.
Licenses/Certifications Preferred

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
