What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medicaid Eligibility Investigator / Supervisor position at The Goodkind Group?
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Supervisor to oversee our team and ensure the highest standards of service and efficiency within our healthcare facility. This position will require travel within the boroughs, Nassau and Suffolk Counties. MUST be NYS Medicaid Application Counselor Certified. This role is crucial in maintaining operational excellence while fostering a supportive environment for both staff and patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participation in all Educational, Seminar and/or Webinar Activities to assure knowledge base necessary to accurately work assigned accounts as well as train FRR PMP Staff
- Training of newly hired staff as well as providing ongoing knowledge base and guidance with all existing FRR Financial Investigation Staffing.
- Ensure timely and quality processing of applications of own assigned workload as well as all FRR Financial Investigation Staffing.
- Review accounts assigned for determination of existing insurance or potential eligibility for NYS Medicaid/Marketplace or Hospital Financial Assistance program.
- Update all related computer systems utilized for the transmission of applications and/or follow-up in a timely manner.
- Provide bedside interviews as well as schedule follow-up appointments with potential applicants for the purposes of obtaining documents as necessary to complete applications.
- Conduct off facility site Field Visits to Patients residency as necessary.
- Travel (5 boroughs, Nassau & Suffolk Counties)
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
Required Education and Experience:
- 2 to 5 years in a similar Supervisory and/or Financial Investigator position with knowledge base of NYS Medicaid Application/Marketplace Application/NYS Financial Assistance Program
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education and Experience:
- DOH Certified Application Counselor Certificate
- College Degree
- Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Skills:
- Bilingual
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task with strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, and accept direction
