High School Math Teacher Description: The Graham School is looking for a High School Math Teacher for the 2025 - 2026 school year. The Graham School has a particular mission to urban students in Central Ohio preparing them for lifelong learning and informed citizenship through real-world experiences and rigorous academics. Fostering ownership and responsibility for their education prepares our students to be successful in college, the workplace, and other endeavors they undertake upon leaving The Graham School. The classroom teacher is responsible for the education of each student in his or her class, and is responsible for working with students, parents, and other teachers and staff towards achieving the mission and goals of The Graham School. Enlivens the human spirit via concerned and positive ways mature, wise adults interact with teenagers and serve as role models for them. Causes students to become more thoughtful, inquisitive people particularly in core literacy areas including: science; math; the arts; communication through literature, writing, and oral presentation; technology; social studies; languages and cultural studies; and community engagement. Read more about our program! https://www.thegrahamfamilyofschools.org/OurProgram.aspx Position Overview: As a graduation requirement, Math courses prepare students for grade level literacy, critical reading and writing, engaging and creative work creation. Responsible for teaching a full course load (three blocked periods with one prep period daily) of Math courses. Develops syllabus, grading expectations, course sequence, title and all course details in conjunction with the building leadership, department and counseling team. Develops a caring and nurturing classroom environment where all students can contribute to the community, learn, express questions/concerns/thoughts, and deepen their growth as a life-long learner. Follow building guidance regarding parental communication, classroom management norms, and PBIS expectations. With the building leadership and grade level teams, write, implement, and evaluate Crew lessons. Develop your Crew class culture such that the school's mission, vision and core values are reflected. Staff members often have additional responsibilities and duties to help the school function safely and effectively. This is at the discretion of the building leadership team and is fairly shared across the instructional team. Staff members will utilize many digital platforms to further their work, communicate with stakeholders, inform students of grades, etc. An ideal candidate is someone who: Is a self-starter interested in working in a fast-paced school environment that requires flexible roles Works well with the rest of the academic and support team for the success of all students Has a growth mindset Has demonstrated strong classroom and time management skills Understands that family involvement is integral to student success Is organized and has tools to help students organize their academic and experiential work Is committed to meeting the needs of every child in a diverse population Is willing to participate in professional development Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Valid Ohio Educator License related to teaching area Pass BCI and FBI background check Pass Educator Licensure conduct review Compensation: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and education.
