The Banquet Prep Cook is responsible for assisting in the preparation and assembly of food for large events, ensuring all ingredients are ready and organized for service. They work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to prepare high-quality dishes in large quantities, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and adhere to food safety standards.
The ideal Banquet Prep Cook will have a high tolerance for repetition, work well under pressure, and be a team player.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare all food items according to recipe cards and correct handling procedures
- Maintain highest quality and appearance of all foods sent from the kitchen and make sure plates are clean and appetizing
- Maintain proper pars of production levels according to estimates on the production sheets; maintain top quality freshness
- Use leftovers and maintain proper storage of leftovers on the hot food side
- Label and date all food
- Maintain clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas
- Make sure that all stations are adequately cleaned at the end of shift and the end of the evening
- Rotate all foods and correctly fill out production charts
- During peak business periods, coordinate and expedite to accelerate service
- Measure ingredients and seasoning and prepare cooking ingredients
Qualifications:
- One year minimum experience in high volume kitchen.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of basic sanitary and health and safety guidelines.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and push, pull, and lift up to 30 lbs.
Working Conditions:
