What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medication Tech- PT 7:00AM - 3:30PM position at The Grand Residence at Upper St. Clair?
The PT 7:00AM - 3:30PM Medication Aide dispenses medications and provides assistance to residents with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, toileting, feeding, moving safely to activities or functions, and caring for the resident's environment. The Medication Aide will also assist the Nurse in charge.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and has completed and passed the Medication Administration Training Program. He or she must have a genuine desire to work with the elderly or disabled and prior experience is preferred. Effective oral and written skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Dispenses medications under the direction of a licensed nurse according to established procedures
- Helps residents with all personal care functions as needed
- Helps residents to and from daily activities
- Measures and records vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, etc., and reports any changes in condition.
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
- Communicates with residents regarding care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Passed the Medication Administration Training Program
- Previous experience preferred
- Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
- Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
