Job Description
The Personal Care Assistant FT/PT is for the 7AM-3PM SHIFT and is to help our residents with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, toileting, dressing, bathing, transferring, and incontinence. The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and a genuine desire to work with the elderly. Candidates should be caring, kind, honest, and dependable. Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Helps clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and/or ambulation. Helps resident to and from daily activities
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and a professional relationship with residents, co-workers, and others
- Maintains confidentiality regarding resident information
- Uses equipment and supplies safely and properly
- Ensures that the required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
- Participates in in-service and continuing education programs, staff meetings, and other meetings/events as requested by immediate supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Genuine desire to work with the elderly and/or disabled
- Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Reliable transportation
